Oladele Alabi
Oladele James Alabi is admitted to practise law both in Nigeria and England and Wales. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the famed University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University. Oladele was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1993 and enrolled as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2006. He holds a Master of Laws degree in Oil and Gas from the University of Aberdeen as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in International Arbitration from Queen Mary, University of London.
Oladele's professional career started with as a Trainee Company Secretary at Marina Nominees, a branch of KPMG, Nigeria. He also had a short spell at the law firm of Kehinde Sofola (SAN) & Kayode Sofola (SAN) before joining the firm of Agabi, Shinaba,Ogon & Co ("ASO & Co") as a Junior Counsel in 1994. Whilst at ASO & Co, Oladele was involved in general civil litigation, family/divorce matter, commercial and corporate law including Trade Marks, Patent and Copyright registration, protection and litigation. He rose to the position of Head of Chambers at ASO & Co. before he left the practice in May 2001. Oladele joined the law firm of Cleveland & Co. Solicitors, London in September 2001 where his caseload included civil litigation and immigration matters. In March, 2004, he joined OJS Law Solicitors, as a partner heading the civil litigation, corporate and commercial and property departments. He subsequently joined James Solicitors in January, 2007 where he specialised in the review of commercial contracts, business immigration law, commercial conveyance, civil litigation/ as well as commercial arbitration. He worked briefly as a consultant with the firm of Adesokan & Co. before joining AIDAN Partners in July, 2016 as a Senior Associate.
Oladele is a member of the Energy Institute, United Kingdom and a full member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN). He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK Branch).
